Thank you for joining us for the Green Snoqualmie Summer of Service! Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 5th, from 9 AM to 12 PM, to join a group of community volunteers for an ecological restoration at Jeanne Hansen Park!

Jeanne Hansen Park, named in honor of Snoqualmie's mayor from 1987 to 1997, contains athletic fields, a tennis court, a playground, and hiking trails! People of all ages come to visit, and so does an assortment of wildlife, from varied thrushes to spotted towhees. A collective effort from years of volunteers has succeeded in strengthening the forest edge and boosting the biodiversity of the forest! This site was the focus of Green Snoqualmie Day 2019, MLK Day of Service 2022, and restoration by Wilderness Awareness School students. It is our duty to build on their work by expanding the forest and keeping out aggressive blackberry!

This is one of the best ways to give back to your local forest and meet like-minded forest advocates. Help us build a healthy habitat and a healthy community!

Tools, snacks, and training are provided, and all ages and abilities are welcome.

What to Bring

Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, and long sleeves that can get dirty. Avoid sandals!

Dress for the weather: sunscreen/sunglasses if it’s sunny, or rain gear if rain is in the forecast. We will be out there whether there's rain or shine! Masks will be provided in case of wildfire smoke.

A water bottle and snacks

Print and bring a signed Youth Waiver if you are under 18 and without a guardian.

A great attitude :)

Your favorite pair of gloves, if you wish. Tools and gloves are provided!

Where to Meet

From the parking lot, walk north towards the field and look for the Green Snoqualmie Partnership tool trailer and the city truck. We will be working on the northern park of Jeanne Hansen Community Park.
