Thank you for joining us for the Green Snoqualmie Summer of Service! On Sunday, 9/20/26, from 9 AM-12 PM, join a group of community volunteers for a fun planting event at the Silent Creek Forest, located down the trail from Curtis Park in Snoqualmie Ridge! We will be planting native plants along the trail and the north edge of the stormwater pond, where volunteers have removed invasive blackberry and ivy over the course of three volunteer events this summer.

When we dig invasive plants like blackberry and ivy, we often inadvertently bring unwanted weed seeds to the soil surface, allowing them to germinate the minute that the conditions are right. By planting and mulching, we prevent the blackberry seeds from accessing sunlight and moisture. Additionally, we are able to select native plants that will feed pollinators and wildlife, those proven to compete well against blackberry, and those that will tolerate drought as summers get hotter and drier.

This is one of the best ways to give back to your local forest and meet like-minded forest advocates. Help us build a healthy habitat and a healthy community!

Tools, snacks, and training are provided, and all ages and abilities are welcome.

What to Bring

Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, and long sleeves that can get dirty. Avoid sandals!

Dress for the weather: sunscreen/sunglasses if it’s sunny, or rain gear if rain is in the forecast. We will be out there whether there's rain or shine! Masks will be provided in case of wildfire smoke.

A water bottle and snacks

Print and bring a signed Youth Waiver if you are under 18 and without a guardian.

A great attitude :)

Your favorite pair of gloves, if you wish. Tools and gloves are provided!
