Riverwalk - Stewarding the Gnome Trail …08/29/2026
Activities
Thank you for joining us for the Green Snoqualmie Summer of Service! On August 29th, 2026, from 9 AM-12 PM, join a group of community volunteers for an ecological restoration at Riverview Park! A community of gnomes has moved into our restoration area, indicating that our restorations have already succeeded in increasing the habitat value for the local gnome population. Yes, this is real. Come see it for yourself!
The summer heat has been relentless, but you can help us plant and maintain the forest at Riverview Park to provide a shady refuge from the heat! During this project, we will continue to remove invasive species that have moved into Riverview Park in preparation for planting events in autumn. There is a patch of English ivy we have been working on digging out, as well as any morning glory/creeping buttercup in our path and scattered blackberry individuals around the site. Pretty soon, Riverview Park will be fully ivy- and blackberry-free, and we will plant some gorgeous native wildflowers, sedges, grasses, and ferns along the trail.
This is one of the best ways to give back to your local forest and meet like-minded forest advocates. Help us build a healthy habitat and a healthy community!
Tools, snacks, and training are provided, and all ages and abilities are welcome. Pizza will be ordered for groups greater than five.
