Riverwalk - Summertime Ivy Pulling @ …06/27/2026
Activities
Ah, Riverview Park! A popular place for residents and tourists for picnics, walks, and playground time. This is also the site of a recent ecological restoration in 2023, which is currently in need of some maintenance.
We are looking for volunteers to help with pulling out a patch of invasive English ivy. If eradicated, we will plant in this area in the fall! Ivy is known for carpeting the forest floor, toppling trees, and indiscriminately choking out young plants.
If we get done with the ivy early, we will have a short native plant walk, then work on picking up trash and pulling the surrounding creeping buttercup and Armenian blackberry!
Come join us and bring your friends and family! Participants are welcome to come begin work with us as early as 8 AM, but the event officially starts at 9 AM.
All ages OK
0 out of 20 participants registered.
What to Bring
Come dressed for the weather in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, and long pants. Don't worry, it will be cool in the morning! Bring a water bottle, snacks, and your enthusiasm :)
If you are under 18 and not accompanied by an adult, print out and bring a signed Youth Release Waiver!
We’ll have tools and gloves for you to use.
