Northwest Slope - SAVE THE FOREST at …07/23/2022

Activities

We need YOU to join us at Curtis Park on Snoqualmie Ridge to save the forest from the threat of evil invasive species! We will be obliterating unwanted Himalayan blackberries, destroying cunning cutleaf blackberries, and eradicating devious herb robert (aka Stinky Bob). The forest behind Curtis Park is a wonderful asset to the community but the forested areas are being threatened by newly established aggressive weeds, and it is necessary to remove these before planting any new trees and shrubs.

This site is between two drainage ponds and a creek (where the Silent Creek neighborhood gets its name) and this water eventually feeds into the Snoqualmie River. The native vegetation we will plant here will both bolster the forest edge and restore it to full health and also filter groundwater that makes it into the Snoqualmie River.
